HOW TO APPLY - APPLICATION GUIDELINES
If you wish to study at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences as an international Master degree student, you can find detailed information concerning the application procedure on our website information for an application with foreign documents.
Attention: The Master's program in Musculoskeletal Therapy is taught entirely in German and requires tuition fees. Applicants must demonstrate German proficiency at B2 and English proficiency at CEF B1. Completing this program does not grant professional licensure as physical therapists in Germany.
The program begins each year in the winter semester (starting in September).
No admission restrictions: There is no selection process. All applicants who meet the requirements for admission to the program (a university degree qualifying for a profession and, if applicable, additional program-specific entry requirements) and submit an application for enrollment will be granted a study place.
Application deadline for enrollment (for non-restricted programs):
- For applicants with German educational qualifications: May to September 1 (cut-off date)
- Important: Applications for Master degree programs at the Faculty of Business Management and Social Sciences are submitted not to uni-assist, but directly in the Application Portal of Osnabrück University of Applied Science.

Knowledge of German as an admission requirement for Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences
The Master's program in Musculoskeletal Therapy is taught entirely in German. You must have a good command of German, which will enable you to follow lectures and work independently. Applicants must demonstrate German proficiency at B2 and English proficiency at CEF B1.
There are general admission requirements that the university expects all applicants with foreign documents to fulfill:
- Your secondary school diploma or university degree must be recognized as entitling you for admission to a Bachelor or Master program. Make sure that you meet the requirements for recognition. To do so, you can make use of information provided by the German Academic Exchange Service or the Anabin database of the Central Office for Foreign Education (Zentralstelle für ausl?ndisches Bildungswesen).
- Proof of German language proficiency
To be admitted to the Master's program in Musculoskeletal Therapy (Manual Therapy – OMPT), applicants must meet the following specific admission requirements:
- State-recognized qualification as a physiotherapist
- University degree in a health-related field
- Practical professional experience: Typically, at least one year of full-time professional experience or equivalent part-time work over a minimum of two years after your first university degree
- Proof of English language proficiency at the university's Level 3 (CEF B1); if this proof is not available at the time of application, applicants may be enrolled conditionally and must provide proof of the required level by the end of the second semester.
